Overview
The ED is a quantum optics experiment platform for the generation and analysis of polarization-entangled photon pairs. A high-power UV diode laser pumps a nonlinear crystal, where photon pairs are generated via spontaneous parametric down-conversion, producing correlated near-infrared photons in accordance with energy and momentum conservation. The system is modular and extendable using optical add-on boards, enabling advanced experiments through dedicated modules such as the Michelson Interferometer, Hong–Ou–Mandel (HOM), Hanbury Brown–Twiss (HBT), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), and Quantum State Tomography, making it ideal for both education and research in quantum physics.
