mmWave Coverage Platform
Re-distribute and optimise mmWave signal propagation using reflectors & RIS
A platform aimed at addressing realistic mmWave coverage challenges: combining SDR-based emulation, signal redistribution via reflect-arrays and dynamic Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) to model and optimise mmWave coverage.

mmWave Coverage Platform Technical Specification
| XRifle Reflector | fixed-beam reflectarray models with varying incident/reflection angles |
| XRifle Dynamic RIS | software-controlled reconfigurable surface for dynamic beam shaping |
| SDR emulation | gNB/UE emulation hardware to generate signals |
| Test scenarios | indoor/outdoor coverage, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) modelling |
| Cost-effective | reduces need for massive base station deployment in test setups |
Applications
- • mmWave coverage studies (urban, indoor, campus)
- • Testing signal propagation, blockage effects and beam redirection
- • Deployment planning for 5G/6G mmWave networks
- • Sensor, radar and imaging system coverage enhancements
Overview
The mmWave Coverage Platform provided by TMYTEK is designed for practical exploration of mmWave propagation phenomena—especially the challenges posed by high-frequency signals in real environments (e.g., blockage, reflection, scattering). Through software-controlled RIS and bespoke reflectarray antennas, the system allows researchers and network planners to emulate and manipulate signal paths, test coverage extension techniques and validate novel deployment approaches. This enables faster iteration in coverage planning and more informed decision-making for 5G/6G rollouts.
