Overview
netTIMS transforms the Emona TIMS hardware lab into a remotely accessible teaching environment. Professors set up real TIMS experiments using netTIMS-enabled modules in a standard TIMS-301 System Unit, connected to a netTIMS Server over Ethernet or the Internet. Students then access these experiments from their own devices — in the lab or from home — with real-time control over all front-panel switches, rotary controls, and potentiometers, and receive live PC-scope views of actual electrical signals. This gives students the genuine hands-on TIMS experience with real hardware, rather than simulation, enabling deeper learning and the observation of real-world signal behaviour. Any number of netTIMS modules can be incorporated based on curriculum needs.
