Overview
net*TIMS FreeWire is a self-contained online lab system offering real TIMS telecommunications experiments to multiple students simultaneously, with no configuration burden on the professor. Students log in via any web browser and receive a client interface mirroring the real TIMS hardware setup. They can select modules, patch them together, and perform real experiments — controlling actual hardware at Emona's Sydney facility and viewing real electrical signals through a PC-based oscilloscope. The multi-user architecture allows several students at different locations to share the same hardware unit, each working in an independent session. Experiments cover a broad range of introductory and intermediate telecom topics.
