Overview

The RIS-Assisted Communication Lab offers a complete testbed for studying and experimenting with Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) — one of the key enabling technologies for 6G networks. The lab setup includes a 16×16 RIS array, controller hardware, horn antennas, and software-defined radios (SDRs) to form a fully functional communication environment where users can visualize and control how signals interact with programmable surfaces.

The RIS control software stack allows users to implement beamforming, channel estimation, and closed-loop feedback control, providing hands-on learning and real-time testing of RIS performance. It supports adaptive phase manipulation, enabling researchers to optimize reflection, minimize path loss, and analyze signal quality improvements under different environmental conditions.

A comprehensive Lab Manual with guided experiments supports users in learning, testing, and developing custom RIS algorithms. The setup also includes a one-day training and installation session by experts to ensure seamless deployment.

This lab provides an ideal environment for academic institutions, universities, and R&D centers to lead innovations in next-generation wireless communication and intelligent propagation environments.
