Overview
TIMS (Telecommunication Instructional Modelling System) is the flagship Emona teaching platform, designed to let students experiment with a wide range of telecommunications principles and modulation/coding schemes without requiring an entire test bench. The TIMS-301 Basic System comprises the core hardware — a System Unit with fixed modules in the lower rack and a 12-slot upper rack for interchangeable plug-in modules. Professors select the plug-in modules needed for each experiment, which are then reused across different setups. The Advanced Module Set expands capabilities to over 50 additional functions, enabling coverage of the full spectrum of telecoms experiments. The block-diagram approach mirrors the way concepts are presented in textbooks, helping students see theory come to life in practice.
